Role - Lead UX Designer
Today data is abundant, our networks are made of billions of transactions and interactions, and the need to scale up and down applications has become vital to remain competitive. This has seen a rise in event driven architectures and applications. IBM Event Streams is a event streaming platform that enables developers to easily connect infrastructure to create responsive and intelligent applications.
IBM Event Streams leverages the open source technology Apache Kafka. As UX Design lead my task was to create an experience that takes this extremely powerful, but complex technology and surface it in a way for even the most novice of developer to utilise. Throughout the product we have invested large portions of the UI to educate and guide new users while offering the power users the flexibility and control to manipulate Kafka.
Throughout this project I work extremely closely with a group or users and subject matter experts to craft the experience that would solve genuine user pain. Over the last few month I have been working with a group of developer to create our product which will be released in late September.

IBM MQ is a 25 year old messaging product that provides messaging capabilities to facilitate the flow of information between enterprise applications. Today many organisations are turning to cloud computing. Building infrastructures that can automatically scale up and down to deal with business needs. We were tasked with building a solution that met these modern demands
IBM MQ comes with a brand and a history of being one of IBM’s most dependable offerings. Over time it has become a trustworthy piece of software for many developers and administrators with 85% of Fortune 500 companies and 94% of the worlds top 100 banks trusting it to support their infrastructure.
Our team was tasked with creating a as-a-service messaging product in the cloud, that implemented IBM MQ under the covers.

LetsGo Yoga is a platform me that enables yogis to book classes hosted by independent teachers across London. Yoga is a increasingly popular form of exercise and meditation. Today the only way of easily booking a class online is through a subscription. Forcing yogis to sign up to multiple upfront. However throughout London there are many super hero teachers running great classes from their living rooms, halls and parks. LetsGo Yoga pushes these teachers to these front of google, allows yogis to book with trust using recommendations and allows all transactions to happen online.
I started this project with two friends. We started by trialing the idea at yoga events around London, attending yoga festivals and meet ups. When we were sure there was a real need we started iterating a prototype with the guidance of a few keen teachers and students.
Role - Lead UX Designer & Design Lead
This product is a yet to be released offering from IBM. I lead a team of designers who closely worked with a team of project managers and engineers to design and develop a fully functioning prototype with the purpose of testing with customers to prove a need in the market and to gain feedback and iterate towards a production offering.
The main focus on this eight month project was to iterate quick, gaining feedback on sketches and prototypes to ensure we delivered a minimum viable product that was also a viable experience to understand the market.
I am unable to reveal details about the product but more than happy to chat about our processes and what I learnt.

Money is an entity that every human interacts with on a daily basis. Money is the backbone of our society. Money gives us access to food, medicine, shelter and almost anything else in the world. Money gives people power over their lives. Yet money management is something many of us struggle with 40% of us in the UK saying it is the single biggest cause of stress.
This was the motivation of me to tackle this problem. For my dissertation I decided to design a way for students to improve their financial situation and help manage their money better. I hoped this would create positive habits that would benefit them better in life. The end result was an app called Monkey Saver. A money management app, which focuses on spending aftercare. It does this by firstly learning about what is and is not important to your lifestyle through a series of questions. Then it combines this information with your spending history. To create a living budget that flexes and reduces your budget of things you don’t care about to get you to the next loan payment.
